Blue Rock Outfitters
Welcome to the Powder River Basin’s premier outfitting operation. Blue Rock Outfitters has been providing quality hunts since 2007. Our philosophy is to aid clients in harvesting mature and quality trophies. We give 100% effort to make your hunt the best it can be. Our guides are top notch and our cooks can’t be beat. Blue Rock Outfitters is located along the border of Montana and Wyoming where the Powder River drainage crosses the state line. This give us the chance to offer hunters opportunities to harvest trophy game in Montana and Wyoming. World class hunters continue to repeat business with Blue Rock Outfitters and boast of “trophy game” in fair chase situations. Expect to see hundreds of deer and antelope in every hunt. Our antelope range from 13″-15″ with some 16″+ every year. Our deer (mule & whitetail) range from 130-190 gross class B & C every year. Come hunt the world renown Powder River Drainages on our vast private leases and get lost in the breathtaking scenery of beautiful Montana and Wyoming. We control the hunting to assure our guests of a top quality hunt of a lifetime.
Our ranches are completely fair chase. No high fences here. We lease private ranches that span for miles giving us the opportunity to provide the quality game you are looking for. Blue Rock Outfitters prides themselves in maintaining an area where game can reach a mature age with minimal hunting pressure. We are located approximately 18 miles south of Broadus, Montana along the Little Powder River
We are proud to offer:
Our camp sits off the beaten path in the magnificent Powder River Basin. You will see Mule & Whitetail deer, Antelope, Turkey, Prairie Dogs, and the occasional elk right from camp. The main house is equipped with satellite tv, wireless internet, and 2 bathrooms. We have modest cabins that are fitted with 2 bunks and electricity. At Blue Rock Outfitters you have the opportunity to hunt 2 states (Montana and Wyoming) from one location. There is no need to jump from camp to camp here. We are just miles from the border.
When you arrive you will get settled in and aquainted with the staff. A guide will assist you sighting in your equipment. The evening before the hunt we will have a meeting to discuss rules and policies of the hunt. Your day will begin with coffee and rolls in the morning. We will then travel to different locations and begin hunting at day break. We return to camp for a mid morning breakfast and then return hunting for the remainder of the day. Once back at camp, we will have a large supper and listen to all the big buck stories.
Weather and Terrain
When it comes to weather, be prepared! Dress in layers. You can always take more off as you hunt. September you can expect 90 degree weather to a possibility of light snow showers. November you can expect it to be cold. A good idea is to check the 10 day forecast prior to departing for the trip.
Southeastern Montana’s terrain varies from river bottoms to mountainous buttes. Most places can be accessed by four wheel drives, but you can be sure there are areas where a guy has to hoof it. We can accomodate to any hunter’s capabilities.
